TAG SP 409: MUK: Perisik Membeloti Panglima Perang By Charlie Bain 1/11/2001 4:50 pm Thu |
robot seperti pasukan Bukit Aman... Perisik Membeloti Panglima Perang
Pakistan. Demikian dakwaan yang diketahui kelmarin.
Para pegawai risikan AS mengsyakki pihak militia telah menerima
usaha beliau berkempen menarik minat ketua kaum Pashtun agar
belot terhadap kepimpinan Taliban. Robert MacFarlane, bekas penasihat majlis keselamatan negara
mendapatkan bantuan AS sebaik sahaja beliau mengetahui Haq
menghadapi masalah. Tetapi Haq sudahpun ditangkap sebelum pesawat AS dapat
diuruskan.
satu majlis agama mereka.
Tamat. Terjemahan: SPAR Asal: http://mirror.icnetwork.co.uk/news/allnews/page.cfm?
objectid=11396823&method=full Taliban militia tipped off about Haq
From Charlie Bain in Peshawar ABDUL Haq, the Afghan warlord hanged by the Taliban last week,
was betrayed by Pakistani spies, it was claimed yesterday.
US intelligence officials suspect militia were tipped off about his
whereabouts by the Pakistan intelligence service, it was reported in
US Newsweek magazine. And it was revealed the CIA turned down requests from Haq, 43, for
weapons, a helicopter airlift and a field radio before his US-backed
peace mission to urge Pashtun tribal leaders to rebel against the
Taliban. Abdul Haq with Margaret Thatcher at Number 10 in 1986
Robert McFarlane, former national security adviser to Ronald
Reagan, who had been advising Haq, said he tried for two hours to
get a US rescue launched when he knew Haq was in trouble.
But he was captured before aircraft were scrambled.
McFarlane said the CIA ''has failed miserably" and added: "There's
an appalling lack of intelligence skills.''
Police in Pakistan yesterday arrested 13 men in connection with the
massacre of 15 Christians and a Muslim police officer at a church in
Bahawalpur on Sunday. Six gunmen sprayed the 100-strong congregation with bullets.
President Pervez Musharraf has vowed to bring the culprits to
justice. He said: "The inhuman tactics clearly indicate involvement
of trained terrorists."
